7 Countries With The Highest Indian Population, That Sends The Most Money Back Home
Nearly 25 million people of Indian origin live outside the country, according to the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs.
By 2013, India topped the list of nations receiving the most amount of foreign exchange remittances. The annual remittance that India receives, clocked $70 billion in 2013, about $10 billion ahead of the closest competitor- China.
The foreign exchange remittances received by the country help the economic growth enormously, contributing close to 4% of the GDP.
